League Tennis Starts This Saturday

-

The 2026 Cape Town Tennis Singles League season begins this Saturday, 5 September. Over the next couple of months, league matches will reduce court availability on certain Saturdays. See times below:

  • 1pm – 4pm: All courts (A-E) booked for league
  • 4pm: Courts E and F will be available for Social tennis (there may be other courts that free up earlier, dependent on league match length, but at the very least E and F should be available from 4pm)
  • 5:30pm: All courts available for Social tennis

There may be some Saturdays when a couple of courts are used for league matches before the usual 1pm start time (see “Earlier League Matches This Year” below the schedule). The FHTC Committee will do our best to balance league requirements with regular Social Tennis and to free up courts as soon as matches are completed.

Earlier League Matches This Year

Tennis is growing across Cape Town, with more players and more teams entering the league. With the same number of courts available, Cape Town Tennis (CTT) has asked clubs to be flexible with earlier start times to accommodate the increased demand. Therefore, some league matches may start as early as 9:30 or 10:00am this season.

We’ll keep members informed about court usage wherever possible. Our priority remains making as much court time as possible available to our members while also supporting FHTC’s participation in league. So, please be patient if you occasionally need to wait for a league match to finish, and please give visiting players from other clubs a friendly FHTC welcome.

If you have any questions, please contact the Fish Hoek Men’s Captain or Ladies’ Captain (you’ll find their info on the FHTC Committee page).

Good luck to all our FHTC league teams!
