DESCRIPTION:Swap out your tennis shoes for hiking boots and join us for ano
 ther off-the-court FHTC adventure!\nFollowing the fun of our Boomslang Cav
 e outing earlier this year\, we’re heading into the mountains again for 
 a group hike to Coca-Cola Dam at Red Hill then onto Scarborough. Expect fr
 esh air\, beautiful scenery\, and a chance to spend some time together awa
 y from the tennis courts. We'll be led again by our indefatigable club cha
 irman and local hike expert\, Willie van Schoor.\n\nHike Details:\nWhen: 8
 :30 am on October 4th\, 2026.\n\nWhere: Meet at Scarborough\, where we'll 
 consolidate vehicles (see plan below in the Short hike description).\n\nTi
 me Commitment - rough guess: Short hike = 1.5hrs. Long hike = 3hrs.\n\nLen
 gth: There are short- and long-length hiking options:\n\n 	Short (4km\, th
 ere and back) hike to Kleinplaas Dam up the jeep track. If folks choosing 
 this option wouldn't mind driving everyone from Scarborough to the parking
  lot at the entrance to the jeep track\, we'd really appreciate it!\n 	Lon
 g (8km\, one-way) hike back to Scarborough to where the rest of the cars a
 wait.\n\nAt Kleinplaas Dam\, we'll all stop together for a snack and a swi
 m before separating: the short hikers will head back to their cars down th
 e jeep track\, and the long hikers will head on to Scarborough.\n\nBring: 
 Water\, snack/trail food\, sunblock (there's very little shade on this hik
 e - the Shade Boys will be disappointed to learn - so you'll probably need
  to reapply at some point)\; a swimsuit and towel if you're planning on sw
 imming at the dam\; whatever else is smart to bring on a hike.\nMap of Hik

 h plenty of club camaraderie\, so we expect this next hike will be another
  great morning out!
